Friday, August 26, 2016 marked a momentous day for us here at Mercanta. It was the day we bid ‘adieu’ to the inimitable Coffee Hunter, Raphael Prime. The occasion was both sad and happy, admittedly. As of August 29, 2016, Raphael Prime will be joining Dormans Coffee, based in Nairobi, Kenya, in the role of Specialty Coffee

From July 9 – 17, 2016, Mercanta was honoured to be invited to Rwanda by our good friends, RWASHOSCCO, to help them celebrate 10 years of producing specialty coffee. Mercanta kicked off the beginning of 2016 by celebrating with our friends and partners in Colombia! We kicked off the week in style with the Taste of the Harvest Event, held on the evening of November 25th, 2014. Hosted by Mercanta, the Embassy of Brazil, the Brazilian Specialty Coffee Association, and The Specialty Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE), Taste of the Harvest was held the day before the Brazil Early Harvest Cup of Excellence auction and highlighted the top 10 coffees of 2014’s competition.
