The variety Aranãs, translating as ‘Spiders’, is a hybrid between Red Icatu and Catimor; both of which are very resistant to disease.
First tested in Sul de Minas and Vale do Jequitinhonha regions, Aranãs presents a great adaptation to terroirs, as it is resistant to rust, has high productivity, consistently large screen sizes and great cup quality.
The fruits are red and when the trees young, they present bronze-coloured leaves. As they mature, the leaves gain a shining dark green tone.
