Katherine Calder

About: Katherine joined Mercanta in March 2010 to oversee marketing and communications, including this website. Prior to joining Mercanta she worked as a television researcher and a journalist specialising in Latin America. Katherine first became interested in coffee after visiting Monmouth’s Covent Garden shop during her first year at university, and later spent a month a volunteering on a coffee-tourism project run by a growers’ cooperative in Chiapas, Mexico (Ixhuatán). She interned with Mercanta in summer 2008 and cups with the team every day. Katherine has a first class BA (Hons) in English Literature and Spanish from Oxford University and a postgraduate diploma in print journalism from City University, London.
