La Candelilla Tarrazú 100% Geisha – El Quemado Lot
La Candelilla de Tarrazú, S.A. mill is located in San Lorenzo de Tarrazú in an area that combines scenes of paradise with a rich coffee tradition. Tarrazú is a rural community on the slops of The Cordillera de Talamanca an area well known through the world of specialty coffee and is the largest coffee growing region of Costa Rica.
The plantation, La Candelilla, is located in village of La Sábana on the south bank of the river Pirrís, 1.2km west of the centre of San Marcos de Tarrazú, this plantation was one of the first coffee plantations in the Tarrazu region and dates back to the early nineteen hundreds founded by Mr. Victor Mora, one of the first settlers of the region of Los Santos.
The Micro Mill open 2000 by Rafael Sánchez and his wife was one the first Micro mills in the Costa Rican history. Prior to this the coffee was delivered to a local cooperative and blend/bulk … lost in a vast “commercial SHB EP “ of the region … a real crime in Specialty coffee terms.
The owners of La Candelilla Tarrazú are committed to environmental policies in all the processes, always aiming to improve quality and cultivation policies. This year we have enjoyed the wonderful 100% Geisha micro lot 15 bags of a total of 25 bags production.
Rafael and his family are committed to produce the highest quality coffee while respecting their neighbours, workers and environment .
