Mercanta will be exhibiting at SCAJ 2011, the largest coffee exhibition in Japan. The event is organised by the Specialty Coffee Association of Japan, with the aim of bringing together Specialty Coffee professionals and enthusiasts from both Japan and abroad. The Japanese Barista Championship will also take place at this event.

Coffee Fest Seattle returns in 2011 with a full programme for those related to the specialty coffee business and coffee retailers. Mercanta North America will be exhibiting at the show - with some fantastic coffees to taste at our stand!

Mercanta is proud to be one of the major sponsors of this year's Nordic Barista Cup, whose focus origin in 2011 will be Indonesia. We are providing a range of Sumatran coffees for cupping and drinking over the three days, and Mercanta's Will Corby will be attending to talk through our Indonesian coffees. Mercanta will also be hosting the NBC's field trip for the winning team to Sumatra in January 2012. We expect that there will be around 10 additional places for sale for this trip through the NBC - watch this space!
The NBC will be held from 25th– 27th August 2011 in Copenhagen. The theme for NBC 2011 is 'Sensory'. The aim is to understand the chemistry behind our sensory perceptions - so the program will be a mix of aroma sessions, basic taste theory, sensory tests, and a lot of educational cuppings.
