Meet our new coffee hunter, Joanne Berry..

Jo was born and grew up in Cape Town, though her parents are originally from Scotland and Zimbabwe. It was in London, however, where Jo’s coffee career began. After finishing her degree in Psychology and Philosophy at Cape Town University, Jo moved to the UK and attended a course at the London School of Coffee. She enjoyed the barista skills so much that she got a weekend job at Bullet Coffee in Covent Garden. Coffee became a passion and, after a short stint back in South Africa (pulling espressos at Origin), she went on to work fulltime at Dose Espresso in Farringdon.

Jo returned to Cape Town in September 2009 to join Origin, where she became the head trainer and manager of Origin’s barista school. Much as she loved her job in Cape Town, Jo missed life in London and so headed back up to the UK this Spring. We’re thrilled with her decision!

Jo will be learning all aspects of our business, focusing on sales and logistics - and will of course cup with the team every day. She currently lives in Hammersmith, though says she may well migrate to East London where most of her friends (and favourite coffee shops!) are based.
