Harvest at San Francisco Tecuamburro
Sergio Barillas from Guatemala’s Finca San Francisco Tecuamburro has emailed us some fantastic photos of harvest on his farm. Take a look!
Sergio tells us that the harvest is now in full swing, with 240 pickers working on the plantation and washed coffee already out drying on the farm’s patios. This year’s beans are a very good size, he says - check them out in the photos Sergio sent us, which were taken on 21 January.
San Francisco Tecuamburro is located in the crater of Guatemala’s dormant Tecuamburro Volcano, at an altitude of 1,460-1,770m, which provides ideal conditions for producing high quality specialty coffee. The farm covers an area of 110 manzanas (around 77 hectares), and is planted with around 80% Bourbon trees and 20% Catuaí.
The new 2010/11 crop you can see here will be arriving at our UK warehouse from early May.. We can't wait!
